This City

This city sleeps on the grave of its founder.
Ghosts, they dance around her.
Haunted by the love of her past,
Encased in unbreakable glass
"Oh, tragedy."
What has she become?
I have reason to believe my soul will rest inside these grounds,
Hollowed out, dedicated. My soul will rest upon this town.
I'm never coming down.
Broken is the home,
In which I sleep alone.
Leave me to the rubble,
In which lies my struggle
The foundation they built has crumbled
This very city's been humbled.
This city is a grave of shattered dreams
In this city love has lost it's sting
I can't live without the sight of its demise
For along with it, my soul dies
All of which I've known and love
Just for a glimpse of heaven above
This is the death of the mighty
Again, she dies nightly.
"Save me, Darling, save me."
How can I forget who raised me?
And with my fate in her hands,
Keep dancing Darling, dance.

Thank You, Based God

Tonight I'll count all the threads of my linen
The thought of your joy leaves me restless.
Tell me of your days: how do you spend them?
I hope my words leave you breathless.
Spare your pity, I'm not asking for sympathy.
I'm not a coward.
I'm just not ready to die physically.
I'm there mentality though: an unmovable mountain.
I can't do it.
I just want to live.

The Darkest Beauty

I’m learning to love a disaster: Myself
For Months I’ve been rotting in my own hell
I’ll sleep when I die
For now I’ll lay by the waterside
The water will cleanse me of my sins
It’ll make me beautiful from within
Some wish for fame and fortune, for the pain to be numb
I desire to be beautiful, that’s all I want
I want to find the beauty in the beast,
Not the beauty in between the sheets
I want to discover beauty in disaster;
Beauty in the insignificant things that don’t matter
Beauty at the change of the seasons
Beauty in death, beauty in life, beauty in believing
I want to examine everything: the water, the dirt, and the blue sky
The World Is A Beautiful Place and I’m No Longer Afraid To Die
